Our community

Teachers and developers, building together

Teachers and developers live in different worlds. At the 2026 EdTech-a-thon, we brought them together from July 20–22, virtually and in person in Atlanta, GA, for three days of collaboration, community, and problem solving. The first apps in our gallery were built there.

FAQ

Are your apps actually free?+

Yes! Every app in our gallery is free for teachers (no ads either!). teacher.dev is a 501(c)(3) non-profit committed wholly to serving teachers.

Can I submit an app idea?+

Absolutely! Share your idea through our idea form. We build apps based on ideas teachers submit and on comments from our social media pages.

Are you open source?+

Yes! The code for our gallery apps is public on our GitHub, so anyone can see how they work, suggest changes, or build on them.

Do you use AI?+

Yes. Duncan and Elliot use AI coding agents to help write code for teacher.dev apps. These are the same industry-standard tools that they used in previous software development jobs. Although AI helps us write code, there is no AI within our apps and nothing you do in our apps is processed by AI. For more details, see how we build apps.

How can I support teacher.dev?+

Share our apps with other teachers, send us feedback, or, if you'd like, donate. Donations help us keep building apps and providing them for free.
